Media Dance +

2022-2023

How to approach societal questions with young people through artistic languages? This new project offers high school students and teachers a space for sharing and experimentation, as well as educational tools around current topics often overlooked in schools due to lack of time or adequate resources.
Media Dance + is a cross-disciplinary project, at the intersection of education and the arts. The research work carried out by dance organizations and associated schools is part of both the artistic and cultural pathway as well as the civic pathway that teachers implement throughout students’ education.

Artistic Project De la dispute au dialogue
by Valeria Giuga and Anne-James Chaton
Dispute takes many forms – the angry words exchanged by lovers, politicians, scholars, combatants, children, etc. – as many forms as words that can enter into the dialogue that will resolve it. The workshop by Valeria Giuga and Anne-James Chaton, a dancer and a poet, will stage, in word and body, the journey from a word spoken too loudly to a word spoken in peace. Students will be invited to engage with textual, visual, sound, and choreographic works; they will appropriate them through writing, voice, and body; they will begin by disputing, then discover by themselves the paths to reconciliation.

On May 10, 2022, Valeria Giuga and Anne-James Chaton will meet students and teachers from the Lycée international de Saint-Germain-en-Laye for a day of workshops at La Briqueterie, which will then continue within the International High School from June 7 to 10.
